Email settings
Connect an email provider so Kudoso can send on your behalf, and track opens and clicks.
Email templates are the content. Email settings are the delivery. Before any workflow can send an email, Kudoso needs to know how to send it.
Choosing a sender#
In Email settings you connect an email provider. Kudoso supports:
- SMTP: connect any standard SMTP server with a host, port, and credentials.
- Resend: connect a Resend account.
- AWS SES: connect Amazon Simple Email Service.
Which provider should I use?#
- Already using Resend or SES for your product email? Use the same one here. One sender, one reputation.
- Have an existing SMTP mailbox or transactional service? SMTP connects to almost anything.
There is no wrong answer. The goal is simply that workflow emails come from a domain you control and trust.
Warning
Send from a domain you have properly set up for email, with the right SPF and DKIM records at your provider. Workflow emails sent from an unverified domain are far more likely to land in spam.
Open and click tracking#
Once a provider is connected, Kudoso tracks opens and clicks on the emails your workflows send, across every supported provider. That means you can see whether your thank-you and referral emails are actually being read, not just sent.
Use that signal: if a referral-ask email has a low open rate, the subject line is the thing to change.
Testing before you automate#
Before you switch on a workflow that emails real customers, send yourself a test. Confirm the email arrives, lands in the inbox rather than spam, and looks right. It is much cheaper to catch a problem on yourself than on a customer.
