Campaigns

The form builder

Design the collection form your customers fill in, field by field.

The form builder controls exactly what your customers see and what you ask them for. Open a campaign and choose the builder to start editing.

How it works#

The builder has two halves: the field list you edit, and a live preview that updates as you change things. What you see in the preview is what your customer sees on the collection form.

Field types#

A collection form is made of fields. The common ones:

  • Rating: a star rating, usually out of five.
  • Testimonial: the written quote. This is the heart of a text testimonial.
  • Video: lets the customer record or upload a video instead of, or alongside, writing.
  • Name and Title: who the person is and what they do, for example "Founder at Acme".
  • Custom fields: anything else you want to ask, such as company size or which feature they like most.

Reordering and editing fields#

Fields can be dragged into the order you want. Drag the most important ask to the top so customers see it first. Click a field to edit its label, its helper text, and whether it is required.

Tip

Keep the form short. Every extra required field lowers your completion rate. A rating, a quote, a name, and a title is enough for most testimonials.

Required vs optional#

Mark a field required only if you truly cannot use the testimonial without it. A great written quote with no job title is still a great quote, so leaving Title optional is usually the right call.

Video on the Free plan#

The video field still appears on Free, but your organization can accept up to 5 video testimonials in total. Once you reach the limit, the form quietly hides the video option and customers can still leave a written testimonial. Pro removes the limit. See Video testimonials.
