Contacts
Importing contacts
Bring an existing list of customers into Kudoso from a CSV file.
If your customers already live in a spreadsheet, a CRM export, or another tool, you do not need to retype them. Import a CSV.
Preparing your CSV#
A CSV is a plain spreadsheet file. Yours should have a header row and, at minimum, columns for name and email. A simple example:
text1name,email,company2Sarah Chen,[email protected],Loop3Alex Rivera,[email protected],Streamline
Most tools, including Google Sheets, Excel, and CRM exports, can save or export as CSV.
Running the import#
Start an import
From the Contacts area, choose to import contacts and select your CSV file.
Map the columns
Kudoso shows your file's columns and asks which is the name, which is the email, and so on. Confirm the mapping so each column lands in the right field.
Review and confirm
Check the preview, then run the import. Kudoso adds the contacts to your organization.
Tips for a clean import#
- Make sure every row has a valid email. Email is how Workflows reach a contact.
- Remove obvious duplicates in the spreadsheet before importing.
- Keep column headers simple, for example
nameandemail, so mapping is obvious.
Warning
Only import people who expect to hear from you. A list of customers you have a relationship with will produce testimonials. A cold list will produce complaints.
